What I’m Reading…

So, what have you been reading? I am still making my way through some books that I was reading a few weeks ago. I also thought I would take the time to write about a little something that has been on my mind when it comes to books and reading.

I am still making my way through Into the Drowning Deep. I really have found this book to be more than I thought it would be. There is a lot of science in this book and the character building has impressed me. I don’t know who will be surviving and what the resolution will be but I’m intrigued.

I am halfway though Hunting Adeline and I have to say this book got DARK. This is certainly the darkest romance I have ever read and reading triggers for this one is VERY important. I have had to take a day or two break just because I need to gather myself after certain chapters.

So, this leads me to the first thing I wanted to share. I don’t think I will be writing a full review of this book. I think some books that we read are read because we want to have the experience of reading them. We don’t necessarily want to share a rating but we want to experience them because we see others having an experience with them. I think it would be incredibly hard for me to write a review for my readers because I don’t think this is a book for the average reader. I think that the triggers and the subject matter are not something that people normally seek out or want to experience in their lives. Dark topics are incredibly hard and especially when there are horrible things going on in the world around us.

I will be more than happy to write a few impressions I had of the book while reading it but I will not be reviewing certain books simply because I’m not comfortable doing so and because some books are just for me.

However, I will always share with you what I’m reading, just know I won’t be writing a review of every single one.

What I am also going to say is that if you DNF any book don’t feel bad about it. Not every book is going to be a winner and it is completely valid if you find that you simply can’t finish a book. I know several people who started reading this one and had to stop. Your mental health is VERY important and if there is something in a book that tries to take away your joy then don’t read it. Please never feel guilty because there will be someone who will come along and fall in love with a book you didn’t like, not to mention there are so many more books in the world. You will find one you love, promise.
