Music Monday: I Saw Twice at MetLife Stadium

I stated in my welcome back post that I had gotten into K-pop during the pandemic. I have had so much fun discovering artists that are part of the Korean music scene.

One of those groups I discovered was Twice. They are a girl group that consists of nine members: Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. They debuted on October 20, 2015. They are under JYP Entertainment.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the concert by the friend who introduced me to K-pop. Twice is her favorite group and she wanted me to experience my first girl group show. Let’s just say I was NOT disappointed. These nine women know how to put on a show, fireworks, dancing, and singing included. They are the full package and they truly have amazing talent.

My favorite album from Twice is Between 1&2 (2022). I think for me it is truly a no skip album. My favorite song from the album is Brave and when they preformed this one live I think I truly lost my mind. It is one of those songs where the vocals soar and you feel like you are invincible when you hear it. The pre-chorus always hits me: Take a heavy breath and look ahead / I’m going to properly deliver it to you now / Brave, brave, brave for ya

Another album I think would be worth a listen (however who is kidding you should listen to all of them), is Eyes Wide Open (2020). The track Go Hard is one of my get ready to kick some ass songs. It is great for the gym and for those moments where you need to put some hype into your life. I feel like this album is just full of songs that give you the boost of confidence you need to dominate. Dare I say girl power?

Twice is truly a powerhouse and if you are looking for something to amp up your summer soundtrack or simply craving something new, check them out. I don’t think you will be disappointed. Their videos are visually stunning as are they, but it’s their talents that shine through along with their personalities. You will be charmed by them immediately and fall in love with every single member. Also, if you can see them in concert, DO IT. You will be in for a show that you won’t forget. These women leave everything on the stage and will have you craving more, more, more.
