Review: Darkest Before Dawn by Ava Vixion

I have never been one to read novels where angels and demons come together for a steamy romance during a battle between good and evil that could save our world. Ava Vixion managed to bring it to life before my very eyes and suck me into Ferrian and Remiel’s world. I couldn’t stop turning the pages and found myself rooting for the faithful heroine throughout the whole book.

It’s obvious from the start that Ferrian has had a rough life;she has been battered and bruised. She has a lot to fear and has every right to lose faith in the world and people around her. There were definitely parts of Ferrian that I could relate to and others I could sympathize with and truly I wanted the girl to catch a break. So when Remiel comes into the picture I was jumping for joy. Not only is Remiel an angelic hottie but he is there for Ferrian as a support system that she truly needs. I simply hate authors who slam their heroine with all these negative things and make it nearly impossible to lift them back up again. Remiel is the knight in shiny winged armor. Yes, he has a few flaws of his own but deep down he always wants to do what’s right for Ferrian, which is what makes my heart flutter.

Darkest Before Dawn has a lot of moments where you have to take a step back to breathe. It also has moments that make you want to tear up and some where you want to laugh out loud. Ava Vixion created a world that I want to explore with characters that I want to know better. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.

Favorite Words: “Her past had more than dictated her present, and Ferrian feared for the future.”
