Book Review: Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Review:

I’ve read so many mixed reviews on Carry On. There were some who really loved it and some who called it a bad Harry Potter knock off. That’s the thing with any book that has any elements remotely close to another book.

I really loved the dynamic of all the characters in the book. I loved the love/hate relationship between Baz and Simon. It wasn’t too over-the-top. I find that with some YA books the whole teenage love/hate relationship can be too angsty. I like a good dose of angst, but too much becomes unbelievable.

The English humor was also greatly appreciated. There were certain jokes made in the book that made me chuckle. There is something truly amazing when the humor can come across so easily. I loved the snarky comments and how it helped the story move right along.

This book had magic, kissing, and lots of adventure. It was a fast read that I really loved. I cannot wait for the next one.
